For the first time in North America, Océ showed off its latest book publishing combination, the Canon imagePRESS C7010VP and the Océ Varioprint 6320. “The Océ On-demand Publishing Solution automates book printing and reprinting through software and accelerates the transition to ‘lights out’ book production,” said Francis McMahon, Océ VP of marketing for the Production Printing Systems Division.
Customers can streamline book-printing processes by ensuring that jobs start and finish on time, with less waste and downtime, while minimizing production costs and maximizing revenues, according to McMahon. The system can produce finished books using covers and color inserts printed on the C7010VP system. When printing book blocks, the 6320 delivers the highest level of productivity in its class. In a typical run of 6x9" books averaging 300 pages on 150 sheets, it demonstrates its productivity by producing 2,950 book blocks in a three-shift operation.
Océ also announced new finishing innovations including the new Integrated Punch and Fold System which provides increased flexibility and a reduced footprint in combining multiple punch requirements with complex V and Z folds.
The new Océ Press Go! Program is designed to address challenges faced in a wide variety of market segments. It takes a multi-faceted approach in business development which combines proven tools, including printed materials, webinars, videos with live sessions, and collaborative activities.
