Sakurai To Host Summer Open House and Vendor Tradefair

Sakurai will mark its 65th year in business and 20th anniversary as a U.S. corporation with a summer Open House and Vendor Tradefair featuring the latest in offset and screen press technologies to be shown in advance of SGIA in Las Vegas. The all-day event will be held from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 12 at the Sakurai Headquarters in Schaumburg, Ill.

“The Sakurai sales, service and parts staff, Sakurai dealers, agents and industry suppliers are anticipating a successful, information packed event and the opportunity to showcase the Sakurai family of fully automated offset and cylinder screen presses for customers, prospects and guests,” said Greg Friesser, general manager, Sakurai USA Inc. “In addition to offset and screen press demonstrations, Sakurai will present special plate demonstrations and a series of seminars designed to help our customers be more competitive in today’s challenging environment.”

Seminars to be presented include cast and cure; high opaque UV curable inks and coatings; high-speed automated screenprinting on specialty substrates for the electronics and overlay markets, and others to be announced.

Throughout the day, Sakurai press crews will be conducting fast makeready demonstrations and quick plate changes on a 16,000 IPH Sakurai 466SDC 20x26-inch, four-color offset press with coater and a Sakurai 466 four–color press using Mitsubishi Imaging polyester plates.

Sakurai SD Series presses are available in four to six printing units plus coating and perfecting and are equipped with numerous standard features to increase productivity and performance, such as automatic plate changers, blanket washers and ink roller washers, plus CIP 3-4 with JDF compatibility and more.

A highlight of the Open House is the first U.S. showing of the new Sakurai Maestro 102SD Servo Driven, optimal registration Cylinder Screen Press equipped with a Natgraph UV curing unit running special demonstrations on MacDermid Autotype plastics using Sun Chemical inks. The design of the 29.5x43.25-inch Maestro is ideal for extremely accurate screen printing applications such as cosmetic packaging, membrane switches, integrated circuit applications and more.
