Project: Provide way finding and custom sponsor graphics in the new soccer stadium
In 2010, Philadelphia's Berry & Homer were faced with a large, challenging project with a very tight deadline—PPL Park in Chester, DE, which housed a new 18,500 seat soccer stadium on the Delaware River and was the home of the MLS Philadelphia Union. As the catalyst for a $500 million waterfront revitalization project, the stadium is expected to "KickStart Chester" by bringing renewed life and vitality to a historic location in need of a spark. Berry & Homer was asked to provide various signage around the Park including aluminum way finding and acrylic ADA.
According to Joe Thompson, president, Berry & Homer produced 35 perimeter mesh banners which wrapped around the stadium—roughly 35-foot-wide by 18-foot-high sections. The back of Scoreboard mesh banner was roughly 125-feet wide by 25 feet high. The jumbo sponsor banners were sized at 35x15 feet. Berry & Homer also created custom interior concession signage which was created in layers from PVC and DiBond. The interior suites also got the star treatment with clear acrylic direct-to sponsor graphics. Berry & Homer used DiBond graphics for the various seating sections, restrooms, stairs, first aid, and no re-entry signs throughout the facility.
