Mohawk Celebrates 1 Million Safe Hours

Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. recently announced that its employees have reached a significant safety milestone.

As of May 4, Mohawk’s New York operations achieved one million safe work hours, and have gone just over a full year without any loss of time due to injury. This means that employees in Mohawk’s Cohoes Paper Mill and offices, Specialty Converting Center, Waterford Paper Mill and Albany Distribution Center have not had any injuries that resulted in days away from work since April 2008.

“We are extremely proud that company-wide our diligent efforts toward working safely and maintaining a safe working environment are yielding such positive results. As we continue to set new benchmarks for ourselves we clearly envision Mohawk as an injury-free company,” said Robert Scammell, vice president, manufacturing, Mohawk Fine Papers.
