Print Art Replaces Parts Washer With Eco-Friendly Unit

Instead of using harsh chemicals, Print Art Inc. is now washing its parts with a water-based solution. The Egg Harbor Twp., N.J. business purchased an eco-friendly aqueous press parts cleaning station as part of its continuing commitment to ‘go green.’

The new Safety-Kleen cleaning station uses Armakleen MPC, a solution for the removal of grease, oil, dirt, dust and grime from metal and non-metal surfaces. The solution is non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-flammable, and biodegradable.

“Cleaning our parts is an important part of the printing business,” said Carl Blase, CEO, Print Art. “An improperly cleaned pan, for example, could lead to poor print quality. But highly flammable solutions are not the answer. Knowing that we had an eco-friendly option, we couldn’t pass up the new Safety-Kleen station.”

The eco-friendly parts washer is the latest in several green initiatives at Print Art. The business recently installed a Roland ECO Solvent Printer XJ-740 which uses environmentally friendly ink. The firm also offers Ultra Green Eco-Friendly Paper.
