GAERF, the Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation awarded nearly $30,000 in scholarships to the nation’s top advertising design, graphic communications and screen printing technology students who participated in the SkillsUSA Championships held June 22-24 in Kansas City, MO.

Graphic Communications medalists at the secondary level were:

Gold: CHRISTINA HILLMAN from Effingham County High School, Springfield, GA

Silver: ZACK MINOR from Tri County Technology Center, Bartlesville, OK

Bronze: CRAIG SWEET from Sammamish High School, Bellevue, WA

At the post-secondary level, the winners were:

Gold: JONATHAN HAND from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC

Silver: AMANDA BREESE from Riverside Community College, Riverside, CA

XPEDX has selected a winning entry from a nationwide competition among student members of Net Impact to develop a sustainability survey and scorecard for its supply chain. The top entry comes from a team of MBA students at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. The winning team received a cash prize and will also have the opportunity to present its work to xpedx senior leaders at its headquarters in Cincinnati, as well as at the 2011 Net Impact Conference.
