Morgana AutoCreaser and DocuFold in Action

Morgana Systems Limited (Booth 3439), the UK-based manufacturer and supplier of digital finishing solutions, details the fortunes of a print business that purchased both specialized creasing and small-format folding equipment from the Morgana range.

Established 12 years ago to provide a high street quick print service, the print business concerned had recently evolved from offset into digital print, to a point where 60% of output was digital. The move into digital print, based on a Xerox DocuColor 2000 and several Océ machines, was working well for the company, but, initially, it did bring with it some problems at the finishing end of the production cycle.

“We were having great difficulty with cracking when folding digital work,” says a company spokesman. “We visited IPEX to see which suppliers were addressing the problem.” The solution came with a visit to the Morgana stand and the subsequent purchase of the AutoCreaser and DocuFold products. The former solved the cracking problem, while the latter provided highly automated folding, along with fast and easy set-up and the ability to memorize settings for repeat work.

“Not only have we been pleased with the performance of the equipment, we were also very impressed by all the assistance and technical support we received from Morgana—so much so that we nominated the company for a Supplier of the Year award.”

The investment in the Morgana AutoCreaser and DocuFold was made to finish color and black-and-white digital output. The latest versions of these products, the AutoCreaser Pro 33 and the DocuFold Pro, are making their U.S. debuts here at GRAPH EXPO 2011.
