Print industry professionals attending this year’s GRAPH EXPO will see an emphasis on connectivity and integration across every aspect of print production in booth 3601. That’s where xpedx will be demonstrating a variety of revenue generating applications for digital, wide-format, and package printing.
“Visitors will take a hands-on tour through a live print production environment that leverages the latest technology, from image capture through print finishing,” says Dennis Killion, Director of Marketing, Graphics, for xpedx. “Using a combination of technology from EFI and Kodak, we will demonstrate how to export jobs from a very efficient, Web-based digital storefront to a variety of workflows, and ultimately output on a selection of wide format and digital presses.”
Dennis says that xpedx’s feature production will be a custom packaging application that draws on expertise from its Chicago-based Package Design Center. Show attendees will have their picture taken in the booth, and printed on a cereal box that’s personalized with their image and name.
“With this technology, package printers can do prototyping or short-run production efficiently, especially when they tap expertise from xpedx’s network of Package Design Centers,” Killion says. “General commercial printers should also consider offering packaging as a service to existing or potential new customers. The technology is readily available and xpedx has the capabilities to help them start generating a new revenue source.”
Show attendees can explore technologies from manufacturers including EFI, Kodak, Epson, EskoArtworks, Hewlett Packard, and Konica. They’ll also find a Substrate Solutions Center and can register to have a sample of substrates shipped to their business.
