Enfocus demonstrated PitStop Pro 10 and PitStop Server 10 software tools. Update 2 answers the needs of customers who require the ability to look at and interact with complex PDF files on e-reader devices such as the Apple iPad. These newest versions address the increasing market need for matching PDF files with e-reader applications, by offering extended processing capabilities for e-readers through the standard Enfocus Preflight Profiles and Action Lists. This allows users to choose parameters such as file resolution, and to optimize the PDF accordingly for faster and better e-reader viewing. When zooming into a PDF, both images and text will retain the necessary image quality and level of interactivity. PitStop can also check URLs in the PDF, to ensure that they are linked to a website.

GMG ColorServer in conjunction with GMG SmartProfiler offers a user-friendly solution for creating GMG ColorServer profiles and printer calibrations. GMG SmartProfiler is a wizard based profiling application enabling any user, even those without expert color knowledge, to calibrate, recalibrate, and profile a variety of output devices. New tools analyze the condition of the printer as a first step. This allows customers to choose the optimum profiling strategy and to detect if the printer might need maintenance before profiling starts. The data is converted to the corresponding output color space using GMG ColorServer. This procedure is performed automatically using the Adobe-based PDF to PDF technology. Consistent color results are achieved across all of the printing devices.

X-Rite showcased i1Display Pro, a solution for color calibration and profiling of displays, laptops, and projectors. It also demonstrated the latest version of EasyTrax, its semi-automated press-side color scanning solution; IntelliTrax, its scanning system that provides fully-automated press-side color control; and version 6 of its InkFormulation and ColorQuality software packages, which give ink suppliers and printers more flexibility, improve materials handling, automatically determine the right ink film thickness, and help eliminate hazardous waste.
Show attendees also saw Pantone’s two new mobile applications myPANTONE for Android and myPANTONE 2.0 for the iPhone, iPod, and iPad, designed to capture, create, and share PANTONE Color Palettes on mobile devices.
