Enfocus Keeps Eye on Automation

Enfocus, makers of the PitStop line of PDF tools, announced a major upgrade to its Enfocus Switch platform at GRAPH EXPO 2011. The release of Switch 10 Update 1 and the optional Database Module will move Switch into an “increasingly central position within a company’s publishing production and supply chain systems,” according to Enfocus vice president Fabian Prudomme.
The upgrades include a database module that lets users immediately use existing databases for automated processing. They also include total support for Adobe’s Extensible Metadata Platform and new functionality and processing benefits for users of Adobe’s Creative Suite 5.5. Also included in the upgrades is an iPad app that offers the ability to manage and monitor Switch while on the road.
According to Enfocus, “graphic arts professionals will improve productivity thanks to Switch’s new level of integration and flexibility. Users will be impressed with what they can do with the new features, as well as the time they’ll save thanks to greater automation.”
Enfocus Switch received a 2011 Intertech Technology Award. The awards, which are sponsored by Printing Industries of America, honor “the development of technologies predicted to have a major impact on the graphic arts and related industries. More than 80% of technologies that receive an award experience continued commercial success in the marketplace.”
The Switch line of products is designed to remove the repetitive tasks associated with receiving and sorting files and comes in three configurations, LightSwitch, FullSwitch, and PowerSwitch. Enfocus is an EskoArtwork brand.
