Fujifilm Formally Introduces Onset S40

As introduced at Monday morning's press conference in booth 627 by Mitch Bode, Vice-President of Wide Format, Inkjet & Specialty Ink systems, Fujifilm’s new positioning is “Expect Innovation.”
After all, that positioning is only natural for a company that spends $5 million every day on research and development, and is the 9th largest patent holder in the United States.
“That’s our compass,” Bode said of the “Expect Innovation” positioning. “Going back 75 years, Fujifilm was an innovator of photographic films. Today, fifty percent of products Fujifilm sells were not part of our product portfolio five yeas ago.”
Last year, Fujifilm unveiled the J Press 720, which represented the culmination of the company's belief that inkjet is the future. The J Press 720 provides offset quality with the flexibility, quick turnarounds, and short runs of inkjet.
This year, Fujifilm's major introduction is the new Inca Onset S40, which the company formally introduced here at the show. Positioned between Fujifilm's Onset S70 and its Onset S20, this full-bed, wide-format UV flatbed inkjet printer prints up to 5,059 square feet per hour. Its many benefits to printers include wide color gamut, satin and controllable gloss levels, variable job management, and the option of automation.
