Editor's Note: More of a Good Thing
You might be wondering why you received a copy of Quick Printing when Wide-Format Imaging arrived in your mailbox this month. Each and every year we examine our business—much like everyone else in the industry—to see where we can make improvements and changes. With the launch of the portal website MyPrintResource.com earlier this year and market consolidation, we saw an opportunity to re-position our brands to serve the graphic arts industry as a whole.
Moving forward, readers and subscribers will receive expanded coverage of the market through several key avenues. Wide-Format Imaging will continue serving its readers six times a year as a print publication and six times a year as an eBook—the same as we’ve been providing in 2011—but this time in conjunction with Quick Printing. These monthly editions will be supplemented by a host of interactive components, including daily e-Newsletters (stay tuned for more on this soon!); expanded editorial content on MyPrintResource.com featuring Web exclusives, videos, podcasts, webinars, and a comprehensive online buyer’s guide; as well as our long-established social media groups on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
It is no secret that the world of signs and graphics has changed. Successful, business savvy print service providers are extending their product offerings to include new revenue opportunities in multiple areas, including banner printing, outdoor advertising (read more on page 14), interiors, POP signs and displays, flags, fine art, floor graphics, proofing and packaging samples, dynamic digital signage (see what ISA’s Lori Anderson has to say about this market on page 16), Web interfaces, Web landing pages, pURL addresses, QR codes, customized links, and personalized one-to-one print concepts that drive readers of the printed word to additional opportunities on the Web. The content of Wide-Format Imaging and the Cygnus Graphics Media Group addresses the challenges and opportunities of these new markets, providing much needed business intelligence for owners and managers, enabling them to make better business decisions as well as wiser investments in technology and resources.
