Digital Printing Fabrics

Fisher Textiles (Booth 214) will have its newest fabrics for digital printing on hand at ISA 2012.

GF 6640 Poly Canvas, 8.4 oz/sqyd, 121 inches, is the improved version of GF 6640 Poly Linen for Dye Sub and UV printing. The new version is whiter than the original and passes NFPA 701. It has a soft cotton, linen-like feel, excellent for home furnishing, banner, and table cover applications.

1010 Element, 8.5 oz/sqyd, 60 inches, is Fisher’s newest awning fabric for Dye Sublimation and UV printing, excellent at withstanding the elements of outdoors. It can also be used for street pole banners and patio furniture. It is very sturdy, whiter and more cost effective than other awning fabrics. It produced excellent results when tested under AATCC test methods for water repellency.

GF 7110 X-Out, 6.7 oz/sqyd, 110 inches, is comparable to GF 4100 Sheeting. The base fabric is polyester with viscose/rayon flocking and compatible with UV printing. Unlike GF 4100, it can be sublimated, passes NFPA 701 and is formaldehyde free. Applications include block out liner and opaque single sided banners.

Singage Solvent Printer

Epson (Booth 1547) will showcase its new Epson SureColor S30670 64-inch solvent printer which delivers the ultimate in value to the signage, vehicle graphics, and fine art markets.

The SureColor S30670 uses the Epson MicroPiezo TFP print head which is capable of droplet sizes as small as 3.5 picoliters and has double the nozzle density of previous solvent printers. The SureColor S30670 utilizes an entirely new print engine that has been designed from the ground up using the latest manufacturing technologies and introduces several new convenient features that automate many of the time consuming processes usually associated with solvent printing, such as nozzles checks, media feed adjustments and tensioning, and complicated media and print head alignments.

The SureColor S30670 is a four-color solvent printer (CMYK) leveraging Epson’s new UltraChrome GS2 solvent-based ink technology. Similar to the UltraChrome GS ink, UltraChrome GS2 was developed exclusively by Epson and delivers virtually odorless printing without the need for external dryers, special ventilation, or air purification systems. In addition, the ink does not contain Nickel (Ni) compounds, minimizing the impact on the environment and employees.

i-cut Suite components include i-cut Preflight, handling efficient preflighting and editing of incoming PDF files. It also adds grommet marks and creates cut paths and bleeds. i-cut Vision Pro ensures that die-less cutting contours match printed images perfectly. i-cut Vision Pro registers the actual dimensions and positions on the printed result. Then, finishing is adapted to the shape of the graphics. i-cut Automate ties the i-cut Suite pieces together, automating the entire production process from design to print to cut. Users can build dynamic workflows that will automate repetitive prepress tasks, enhancing productivity, reducing operator intervention and errors, and saving valuable time, money, and materials. i-cut Automate can also be integrated with MIS, enabling automatic job creation and the submission of job parameters to the workflow.
