Viva Las Vegas
The 2012 SGIA Expo is back in Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center, October 18–20, offering the specialty imaging community the best spot for wide-format, graphic applications, installation, garment decoration, screen, digital, and more.
Exclusive to the NUR Star is an Interchangeable Table, a patent-pending function allowing non-stop production. Operators can load/unload while printing, thereby reducing wait-time between prints from the typical 50 seconds down to 12 seconds. The Dynamic UV System, also patent pending, eliminates gloss banding and reduces electricity consumption.
The Mutoh 48-inch ValueJet 1204PLUS four-color, Eco-solvent printer can print on Ready2Print pre-grommeted and pre-welded banner material plus it can also print on standard banner, vinyl, canvas, and other inkjet media as well. It’s multiple application capability, small footprint, and special price of only $9,995 makes it one of the most versatile and productive printers on the market today. Plus, for the first time ever you can buy junior rolls of Ready2Print pre-grommeted and pre-welded banner at reduced prices through the end of the year so you can see just how fast and easy banner printing can be.
Don’t miss this chance to see the new ValueJet 1638 high speed 64-inch Eco-solvent printer in action. With print speeds up to 1,000 sqft/hr not only is it the fastest printer in its class, but with the Intelligent Interweave print technology it produces some of the highest quality output as well. Also being demonstrated is the ValueJet Status Monitor (VSM), a remote app for your smart phone that lets you monitor your printer status remotely. Come see all of this plus live vehicle wrap demonstrations, dye-sublimation printing and packaging prototype printing on a new flatbed at Mutoh’s booth 3413.
Making its North American trade show debut at SGIA Expo 2012, the Truepress Jet W1632UV, the latest addition to Screen’s (Booth 4235) family of wide-format inkjet printing systems, brings new levels of speed and precision to the sign and display industry. The use of 12 picoliter micro-droplet printheads enables crisp text, fine definition and smooth vignettes, while a maximum apparent resolution of 1,200 dpi ensures photographic quality on printed images for signage that is intended to be viewed close up. Screen’s flexible Truepress UV inks (CMYK plus light cyan and light magenta as standard) provide a wide-gamut color space and the flexibility to be bent or cut.
The Truepress Jet W1632UV images on large-size media up to 62.9x125.9 inches with a maximum substrate thickness of 1.9 inches. Offering high-speed printing of 1,011.8 sqft/hr, the best in its class, the Truepress Jet W1632UV can quickly print jobs that require short turnarounds or involve a large number of copies. The automated cleaning station helps maintain printheads in the best condition for production. A nozzle mapping function provides continuous printing with no loss of throughput in the event of missing nozzles.
AnaJet (Booth 3027) is showcasing AnaRIP version 2.0, the software that enables AnaJet’s mPower series direct to garment printer to reproduce images onto garments and other products. The new software version now has several RIP features unique to the garment printing industry, including TrueView, which lets operators preview a more realistic facsimile of the resulting print, and underbase adjustment sliders for fine-tuning RGB, CMY and grays, which make for better print fidelity. It also includes an Ink Cost Calculator, which estimates ink costs after “ripping” but before printing, so owners can price jobs for maximum profitability. Sign and large-format businesses looking to diversify their product offerings have reported that AnaJet products, services and support are dependable and easy to learn.
At this year’s SGIA Expo, CET Color (Booth 2837) will be revealing their latest line-up of UV flatbed and UV hybrid wide-format printers. Visitors to CET Color’s booth will learn that CET Color technology has made it possible to configure a printer to fit just about any specification you require to meet your needs. On display you will find the new X-Press 500Q 60x120-inch UV flatbed and the X-Press 1000HL hybrid printers.
The vacuum belt driven X-Press 1000HL will handle roll media up to 126 inches wide or 5x10 feet by 2.25 inches thick rigid media while delivering speed and quality surpassing printers at twice the price. The X-Press 500Q, touted as “the highest quality UV flatbed, period”, can be configured with up to 20 Ricoh printheads for super fast speed and is capable of printing on virtually any substrate up to four inches thick. Both printers are field upgradeable.
