Design, Pricing, and Hands-on Workshops Highlight Today’s Mailing Sessions

Along with the opportunity to explore the mailing and fulfillment exhibition in the Mailing and Fulfillment Center, GRAPH EXPO attendees also have the opportunity to take advantage of targeted educational sessions. Today’s first session is “Fabulous AND Foolproof: Designing Direct Mail for Automation”. Presented by Jim Workman, Assistant Vice President, Center for Technology and Research, Printing Industries of America, the session will explore ways to save customers costs by assisting them in creating mail pieces that perform well in the postal automated mail stream. Properly designed and barcoded mail pieces should speed through processing and avoid the risk of additional postage charges. (10:30 am – 12:00 noon, Room S404bc)

Also at 10:30 am will be the “Direct Mail Workshop 1: Design Great Mail” presented by Trish Witkowski of the FoldFactory. There are many things to think about before starting a direct mail campaign, including the audience, the message, the offer, the format, technology integration, and any creative techniques you might use to engage the recipient. This session will introduce the many components of a direct mail campaign, and will share ideas and real-world solutions and a methodical approach to planning and creating mail. (Room S503ab)

At 12:30 pm there will be a free vendor seminar “Getting Economic Value out of Your Direct Mail Strategies”. Presented by Stephanie Miracle, Solutions Design Consultant, Pitney Bowes. The seminar will explore technology changes in mail that can lead mailers and mail service providers down the path to more opportunity and show attendees how experts can help identify and navigate these changes and uncover opportunities that can make a big difference. (Room S405ab)

A second Direct Mail Workshop, “Optimize Format”, also presented by Trish Witkowski, will be held at 2:00 pm in Room S503ab.

At 4:00 pm, Tom Quinn of President of Q Fulfillment Solutions, will present “Magnificent Margins: How to Price Fulfillment Services”. He will discuss the challenge of development of fulfillment pricing parameters and take the mystery out of the process to ensure that you are not leaving money on the table. (Room S403b)

The day will conclude with the third of Witkowski’s Direct Mail Workshops, “Track and Measure” in Room S503ab from 4:00 – 5:30 pm.
