The GAA Packaging & Products Technology Conference with the theme “Gravure to Suit Customers’ Expectations” kicks off today at 6:00 pm with a welcome reception (Room S105bcd). During the event tonight, the GAA will induct the newest members of the Gravure Cylinder Society.
The conference continues tomorrow, October 10 at 8:00 am with welcome remarks by Bill Martin, President & CEO, GAA; Bob Kikkert, Manager Packaging Services, Altria Group; Rod Sosa, Print & Laminating Manager, Fres-co System USA, Inc.; and Bob Whitton, Principal, Arellton Group. The keynote presentation, beginning at 8:45 am, features Thomas Gallo, Vice President Sales & Marketing, G3 Enterprises. Cal Poly graduate Gallo is a third generation owner/executive at G3, an arm’s length provider to California’s E. & J. Gallo Winery. Gallo’s company meets requirements of the Gallo vineyards as well as providing logistics, warehousing, and packaging services to many of the top 50 wineries and spirits producers in North America. G3 and E. & J. Gallo Winery together specify and use gravure, flexo, and offset—on a number of environmentally friendly substrates—to bring meals and sociability to the tables of America. With a 6-unit gravure in transit, colleagues enrolled at the GAA gravure press seminar, a wide array of choices for his and his clients’ end uses and keen awareness of the future needs of competitive packaging, Gallo will introduce the GAA’s two-day deep dive into Gravure Technology and the underlying reasons why the association members care about—and deliver—the finest quality packages and products in America.
