EFI Unveils Fiery System FS100 Pro at GRAPH EXPO 2012

EFI (Booth 2000) is unveilling Fiery System FS100/FS100 Pro (FS100 Pro), a scalable and integrated front-end system for print engines, ensuring a maximum and speedy return on investment.

“We’ve made some incredible advancements in this release,” said Toby Weiss, senior vice president and general manager of EFI’s Fiery division. “We are excited about this new system and the benefits it will bring to print environments worldwide, as well as to our print engine OEM partners. Visitors will be stunned by the speed, color quality, usability, and integration functionality embodied in FS100 Pro.”

The latest update to EFI’s Fiery user interface—Command WorkStation 5.4—includes integration with Fiery Color Profiler Suite 4.0, inline editing of the Copies, Job Names, and Workflow columns, as well as presets for User Defined Finish Size.

Central to the high performance of Fiery System FS100 Pro is HyperRIP, a performance-enhancing technology that splits individual files so that they can be processed with multiple interpreters for both Adobe PDF and PostScript files, enabling files to reach the print engine at speeds that average 40% faster than current systems. With HyperRIP, the Fiery server can process a single rush job more quickly, improve efficiency, and speed up performance with a single multi-page job, and efficiently process jobs in parallel.

Integrating into the existing Fiery workflow is this new make-ready solution which allows operators to produce complex documents efficiently and in-line, and includes functionality such as page editing, page numbering, and advanced tab functionality.

Fiery JobFlow, a browser-based workflow solution, uses Fiery technology and enables end users to define powerful workflows in an intuitive and simple manner. This includes the ability to convert, preflight, edit, image enhance, and impose documents at the point of print, saving time, and money by automating repetitive tasks.

Fiery Ticker shows processing and printing speeds of the current job, the number of pages remaining for the job, error messages, and tray information, and will run automatically when an operator is not directly using the Fiery.

In addition to these features, users will see enhancements to the Paper Catalog and new VDP features including support for PDV/VT-2 and a VDP Raster Previewer. Fiery System FS100 Pro also sports new integration features, including JDF improvements, support for Adobe’s APPE 2.5 and cost accounting integration that allow users to take advantage of the RIP and color capabilities on the Fiery while still having all jobs accurately billed back to the appropriate client account. Also receiving an update is the premier automated image enhancement package, Fiery Image Enhance Visual Editor, with version 1.1 now offering improved red-eye detection/correction and automatic saturation boosting without affecting flesh tones.
