Students from Clemson University’s Department of Graphic Communications paid a visit to one of the university’s close industry partners, Heidelberg, Monday at GRAPH EXPO.
During the school year, many Clemson graphic communications students visit Heidelberg’s Kennesaw, GA., U.S. headquarters for seminars and the chance to witness a real-time prepress-through-finishing demonstration of printing work done using the students’ production files.
Clemson faculty members Eric Weisenmiller and Erica Walker accompanied the students on their trip from Clemson, SC to Chicago for a tour of GRAPH EXPO and a chance to say thanks to their friends from Heidelberg.
“Heidelberg is a tremendous help to our program,” said Weisenmiller. “They treat us like royalty.”
Mark Wendling, Director of Marketing Communications, Heidelberg USA, stated, “Our relationship with Clemson is really a two-way street. We’ve hired quite a few interns from Clemson. The last two people running our creative services department were Clemson interns we hired on.”
