Garrido USA (Booth 3912) is introducing two of the latest equipment innovations on the show floor this week:
- • the F-50, a high-speed, continuous-motion side sealer, and
- • the HC-15M semi-automated case-making machine, which has been engineered for the digital market.
The F-50 is the premier shrink-packaging machine for the printing industry, said General Manager Nicolas Garrido. The machine has the capability to run a range of product sizes at high speeds, he added. “The product to be packed does not stop on the belts, eliminating slippage.” The HC-15M Case-Making Machine is a semi-automatic module that can produce up to 900 cases per hour. “Its simple design and structure allow for quick changeovers—a positive progression for the digital sector,” according to Garrido. “Even though this machine works wonders for short run jobs, you will not sacrifice production on any medium to long run jobs. The feedback for these models has been fantastic,” he continues. “The machines that are installed in the field have been a success, and we look forward on building from that success at PRINT 13.
This year marks Garrido’s fifth quadrennial PRINT show. The Miami-based company has become an annual GRAPH EXPO exhibitor as well, providing solutions for the paper converting and packaging industries. Founded by CEO Diego Garrido, the family-owned firm celebrates its 25th year in business in 2013. In addition to his GM son, Nicolas, Juan Garrido (Nick’s brother) heads up engineering and development.
Garrido USA has roots as a hybrid printing press rebuilder. Its small size has allowed it to adapt on the fly. It evolved to distributing bookbinding equipment to Latin American customers and is now focused on finishing and bookbinding. For almost 10 years, the company has been manufacturing in China, where it has an engineering crew. “Between the three of us, we travel to China probably 15 times a year,” Garrido says.
