Enfocus, Monotype Partner Up

To a person, prepress file preparers, graphic designers, and art directors bemoan missing type fonts. At a PRINT 13 opening day press conference on Sunday, Enfocus (Booth 4743) announced a partnership with Monotype that can temper that frustration with the click of a mouse—and one-time font purchases of $1.49 each (per document)—as part of the ‘preflighting’ review check list. When missing fonts are detected, PitStop Pro 12 and PitStop Server 12 user sites now will have the option to connect to the proprietary Monotype Baseline platform, which is a new cloud-based service solution. This option permits embedding of the font in the file.

“Missing fonts are cited in survey after survey, year after year, for well over 10 years, as one of the biggest obstacles to timely PDF production,” says PitStop Senior Product Manager Andrew Bailes-Collins. “Speaking on behalf of 130,000 worldwide companies and individuals who use PitStop to preflight and correct PDFs, we thank Monotype for working with us to finally conquer the problem.”
