Pitney Bowes Customer Praises Modular Inserter

Diane Fischer, President of L & D Mail Masters in New Albany, IN, has installed Pitney Bowes’ Mailstream Productivity Series Inserting System (Booth 1947) to help increase operational efficiencies and lower costs for delivering high-integrity client communications. The system processes mail applications at speeds up to 26,000 mail pieces per hour. By integrating the system into its existing print-and-mail operations, L & D Mail Masters will be able to redeploy resources to help serve its expanding client base.

L & D Mail Masters has grown from a home-based small business founded 26 years ago into a $25 million full-service direct marketing firm. The company is now housed in a 180,000 sqft facility and has 120 employees. It offers creative design, high-quality digital printing, statement processing, interactive online services, and direct mail production to clients nationwide. The firm is a woman-owned business serving a broad range of clients including insurance, financial services, higher education, sales, publishing, and healthcare industries.

Fischer says the most challenging part of meeting her clients’ needs is that “there are so many moving parts. We have to be sure we focus on the right things. We need to find the balance of the right products and the right people. Our customers always want more and we have to be prepared to deliver whatever they are looking for.”

Fischer appreciates the fact that Pitney Bowes approached her with a consultative selling approach. “Nobody just came in and just tried to sell me a piece of equipment. They asked the right questions to make sure they understood our needs as well as our plans for future growth,” she points out.

“L & D Mail Masters needed a scalable solution that would not only help us increase operational performance and lower costs, but would also allow us to adapt to meet the needs of our growing client base,” Fischer continues. “After evaluating other high-speed solutions, it was clear that the Mailstream Productivity Series Inserting System will help us accomplish this so we can deliver millions of high-quality communications each month for our direct marketing and transactional mailing clients.”

Discussing the modular structure of the Mailstream Productivity Series Inserting System, Grant Miller, Vice President, Global Strategic Product Management, Document Messaging Technologies for Pitney Bowes said, “We focus on productivity from multiple points of entry. Our customers are doing so many different things now. We can help them do all those things, in any order. Our ultimate goal is to make it like Legos.”
