Good News for NAQP Members
NAPL taps a seasoned veteran to revitalize NAQP programs and offerings.
Ever since NAQP merged with NAPL, there has been a small group of doom-sayers maintaining that the merger would mean the end of NAQP. Granted, it has taken a while for the leadership of NAPL to adjust to the influx of NAQP owners and to adapt programs to match their particular needs. However, just before the Christmas holiday came news that demonstrates that NAPL is making some real strides toward tailoring its offerings to this important industry segment. Mitch Evans, a former NAQP leader and a highly successful former shop owner has been named to chair the NAQP Advisory Board. The board will be charged with creating “programs and editorial content specifically geared to the quick/small commercial printer segment of the graphic communications industry.†According to NAPL CEO Joe Truncale, “Mitch will work with our volunteer leaders and NAPL staff on a plan of work that delivers programs and services for this segment that are superior to any other offering in our industry.†In my opinion, they couldn’t have picked a better person for the job. As a shop owner, Mitch grew Print Tech into a perennial QP Top 100 company. Over the years, he has served in just about every NAQP capacity, including president. And since retiring from Print Tech, he has built a successful consulting business. Oh, and he also is a regular columnist for QP, providing our readers with valuable business insights. “I know how to expand an industry business,†said Evans, “and I am looking forward to sharing what I have learned with NAPL’s and NAQP’s members and helping the association develop information and programs that will help its quick and small commercial printers add value to their businesses.†I look forward to seeing what specific programs will emerge from the advisory board.
