Bourg BST-e Suction Tower Collator
Product From C.P. BourgC.P. Bourg, the world's leading technology developer and supplier of in-line and near-line document feeding, binding and finishing equipment for the broad spectrum of traditional and digital printing environments, has launched the Bourg BST-e Suction Tower Collator, the printing industry's first large-format tower collator able to support "finishing on demand" booklet making from both traditional and digital workflows.
The C.P. Bourg BB3002 PUR combines Bourg’s system engineering with PUR dispensing technology from Nordson and adds it to Bourg’s highly automated BB3002 Perfect Binder. Finished books in perfect-bound and lay-flat applications can range in size from two sheets (eight pages) up to 2.36" thick, with cover dimensions of 3.5x3.9" to 12.59x15.15". It features tool-less set up using an icon-driven touchscreen to select and set functions automatically from a list of menu options. The compact, single-operator system also automatically measures book length and block thickness and calculates the centerline of the cover to fasten the spine, to meter the precise amount of PUR adhesive, and bind books of the same size and different thickness one after another automatically—without operator intervention. The unit can produce up to 350 books an hour.
C.P. Bourg’s BSF Sheet Feeder is a near-line sheet feeder that automatically transfers paper from different manufacturers’ printers and stack carts while maintaining integrity of collated sets for production finishing. It features an air-table design that allows the operator to load and center stacks of collated sets from stack carts common to Canon, HP Indigo, Kodak NEXPRESS, Océ, Xerox, and other manufacturer’s printers. The unit is equipped with two feeding compartments that can accept pile heights of 20" for primary content and up to 6.3" for covers or other content, and it can feed up to 15,000 sheets/hour to various C.P. Bourg finishing modules. It detects double sheets or missed sheets from both compartments, and detects when either stack bin is empty. Paper sizes can range from finished products smaller than a CD-ROM booklet to 14.33x22.5". Optional barcode scanning with a flexible positioning scanner allows users to read a bar code placed anywhere on the sheet.
The first high-speed near-line commercial booklet maker that handles paper formats large enough to stitch, fold and trim print output from a wide range of traditional analog and all digital presses
