Direct Color Systems (DCS) has expanded its line of InkMark pre-coated substrates with options that are compatible with the company’s compact UV LED printers and inks.
While InkMark UV metal and plastic substrates can be used on any UV flatbed printer, they are optimized to accept DCS’s UV LED inks without the use of any chemical wipe or adhesion promoter, allowing users to more easily and economically create durable images with a greater resistance to scratches and many perfumes and solvents, including 100% isopropyl alcohol. They also resist chipping and delamination when sheared, sawn or engraved. Applications include safety signs, name badges, business cards, recognition awards, signage, desk and door plates, machine labeling, bag tags and much more.

Direct Color Systems now offers the most economical, small-format UV LED printers on the market! The Direct Jet 1014UV offers a 10x14-inch (254mm x 356mm) printable area that allows for a four-inch (102mm) Z axis. The Direct Jet 1024UV boasts a larger 10x24-inch (254mm x 610mm) area and a six-inch (152mm) Z axis. Both printers offer an automatic LED Head Height sensor along with a six-color UV LED ink set including clear and white inks. These printers have options for both uni- and bi-directional print modes with resolution of up to 5760 dpi.

Direct Color Systems has introduced Multisolve IR7 pigmented inks. These mild solvent-type inks were designed exclusively for the company's Model 1309, 1314, and 1324 Direct Jet printers. They can also be used in the Model 1212 and 1320 printers when a solvent-resistant head is installed in the printer. The line of inks includes Yellow IR7, Magenta IR7, Cyan IR7, Black IR7, and Clear IR7, along with White IR5 and Solvent Wash IR7 (for cleaning of ink supply components). The inks provide vibrant, high-intensity colors, with consistent color density values. They are formulated for use in both flexible and rigid applications. Because they are pigment-based, they are UV stable and resist fading in outdoor environments.

Direct Color Systems (DCS) has introduced its Millennium 700 small format printer, which prints full-color name badges and access cards in 25 seconds. It automatically feeds and prints precut blanks in full color, at a printing speed of about 25 seconds per card. Computer graphics, scanned images, or original artwork created by a software package such as the DCS Color Byte software can all be used with this printer.
