Pantone's new Pantone Plus Series color communication software features a host of new features, colors, and digital tools, including chromatic arrangement of colors for more intuitive selection, an expanded palette of spot colors, and new premium metallics and a broader range of neons. Every Pantone Plus Series purchase includes Pantone Color Manager software, which allows users to update software with Plus Color Libraries. Users can also convert spot colors to CMYK simulations with loaded ICC profiles. Guides in the Plus Series include a ColorChecker Lighting Indicator that shows whether current lighting conditions are suitable for color evaluation.

Pantone announced new capabilities for its professional monitor calibration tools, Eye-One Display LT and Eye-One Display 2, under the PANTONE/GretagMacbeth partnership. The push-button calibration feature included in both products automatically interacts with monitors to adjust RGB, brightness, and contrast settings and supports most professional monitors. Users can create profiles for any ambient light condition. Profile summary reports are provided for post profile analysis, as well as profile reminders to ensure users recalibrate their monitors as monitors may drift over time. In addition, a "before and after" feature allows users to see the effects of the calibration process on images. They include support for Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. Current Eye-One Display LT and Display 2 users can download the upgraded software free-of-charge from Pantone's website.

Pantone announced the availability of 125 new specialty colors. The Pantone metallic formula guide features 97 metallic shades and the Pantone pastel formula guide features 28 pastel colors, making this the broadest collection of Pantone Specialty Colors available. The metallic and pastel color palettes are available in fan guide format or as loose-leaf chips books with tear-out color swatches. Replacement pages are available for both metallic chips and pastel chips, allowing users to update their reference books with the latest specialty colors.
