Michael Farkas

Michael Farkas is Marketing Director and Business Unit Manager Graphic Arts at GMG, a leading developer and supplier of high-end workflow and color management software solutions. Farkas is responsible for the development and implementation of the global strategic and tactical marketing plans, and the product strategy and roadmap for the GMG graphic arts products.

Before joining GMG, Farkas was Technical Manager at Inter IKEA Systems, the owner and worldwide franchisor of the IKEA concept. Farkas developed the extremely efficient workflow behind the world’s most comprehensive print production—the IKEA Catalogue. Under his leadership emerged one of the most complete catalogue production systems, IKEA Production Hub. Farkas also devised GMG ColorMaster, which has transformed global media production and the IKEA color management workflow, in particular.

Farkas began his printing career with a rotogravure apprenticeship at Schlott Group in Germany. He also served as head of the Production Department in package printing company and Production Manger at Printus GmbH, a leading direct mail order company. He attended technical college in Nuremberg, Germany, receiving a degree in Printing Engineering.

Farkas lives and works in Helsingborg, Sweden where he enjoys Swedish lifestyle and the closeness to the sea.
