What is EPUB, iBooks, publishing to an iPad? How does it work? In this live, hands-on session we will use InDesign CS5 to create an EPUB file and then view your very own document on iPads and iPhones and also Adobe Digital Editions, Firefox and Android devices. Every attendee will make, and view, their very own first iBook! Everything will be explained—the full story from A to Z—no previous experience required. The EPUB file format is a standard format (like PDF) and is used to store content for all eReaders, such; as Apple iPad and iPhone, Kobo, Barnes & Noble Nook, Sony, etc. The creation of a file can be done in InDesign CS4 or CS5. Today an EPUB file can also be easily made using OS X Automator on Lion. Within an EPUB file we’ll also store the table of contents, include an image and also a hyperlink to an external URL.
