SUMMARY:X4 - Will It Mail? Design Considerations for Inkjet Transaction and Direct Mail
DESCRIPTION:Fee: $75 (is NOT part of the Grah Expo Seminars Value Package)
Date: Monday, October 8 10:00 am - 10:50 am
Speaker: Pat McGrew, M-EDP, CMP
Description: While not all print is destined for the mail stream, most of the print created by Xplor members is intended for exactly that purpose. It may be transaction communication or marketing communication, but it gets delivered through the mail stream. Between concept and mailstream insertion there are a lot of decisions made about how to execute the piece, but for many companies those decisions are based on printing and delivery methods that are no longer in use. If your enterprise has moved to inkjet, or you think it may be integrating inkjet print devices, your design ideas may need to change. And, if you are doing multi-channel delivery, this may be a good time to re-evaluate the effectiveness of design for those two channels. This presentation provides a checklist for the things to re-evaluate in your current print jobs in terms of use of color saturation, density and PMS colors as well as the considerations for how close to the edges, and designing for self mailer folds and postal imprinting. This presentations brings a lot of examples from current mailstream programs.
