Winners of Neenah Paper Labels of the World Contest Announced

Neenah Paper congratulates the winners of its 2010 Labels of the World contest. This year's contest drew more than 50 entries from around the world. Each year, the judges choose twelve labels to be featured in a calendar that showcases a range of print processes on premium label papers from Neenah Paper. The winners are selected based on outstanding design and style, print execution and use of paper. The Labels of the World contest was initiated in 2004 by Neenah Paper, and in 2010, the competition was opened up to non-wine label entries for the first time. The category includes labels for other beverages, pasta, micro brews, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products.

The twelve winning entries represent a wide range of designs from whimsical to elegant, illustrative to typographic. Each label is beautifully printed on Neenah Paper label papers, using processes like embossing and foil stamping, even four-color process. A Best in Show award was given in each of two categories; the winners received a cash prize along with inclusion in the calendar, which is produced in limited quantity and distributed globally to Neenah's luxury packaging specialists, international merchants and global sales force.

The Best in Show for Wine Label was awarded to the label for the 2010 Run Free La Vie en Rosé from Singlefile Estate in Australia. It was designed by Public Creative and printed by Supa Stik Labels. The label, printed on Neenah Paper ESTATE LABEL, features a beautiful black and white halftone illustration highlighted by a delicate foil stamp. It works beautifully on the elegant stock, resulting in a crafted artisan label. Also printed on Neenah Paper's ESTATE LABEL, the Best in Show for Other Beverage and Packaging Labels went to the Solera Grand Reserve Handcrafted Brandy label, designed by Coley Porter Bell South Africa and printed by Collotype Labels RSA for Oude Molen Distillery of Edward Swell and Co. Demonstrating precision design and attention to detail, the typographic label is printed in spot colors (including a metallic ink), as well as foil stamped and embossed, creating a rich, textured label true to the brandy it was crafted to represent.
