Kevin Currier, an inkjet applications expert with nearly 15 years in the industry, was recently hired by Durst Image Technology US as the company's new Application Solutions Manager.
Currier's responsibilities will keep him in constant contact with users of Durst's Rho UV inkjet printing platforms, to help them develop "best practices" and get the most out of their Rho printers in terms of image quality, print productivity and operational efficiency. He is an expert in such critical aspects as prepress processes, RIPs, color, inks, media surfaces and other facets of large-format digital imaging.
"Kevin has been involved in inkjet technology and applications since its inception in the large-format printing space and has served as a knowledgeable advisor for print providers who look to optimize their digital production investments," said Christopher Howard, senior vice president of sales & marketing for Durst US. "We're extremely pleased to have him as part of our growing team of imaging professionals whose understanding of digital imaging is second to none."
Currier joined Vutek in 1997 just prior to its launch of inkjet printers. In 2000 he was named manager of the newly formed Application Engineering Group, and a year later became manager of the company's Worldwide Application Engineering & Development Department. He oversaw teams of application specialists involved in a wide range of customer-centered activities—from voice-of-customer input into product design and creation of new imaging applications, to “green” printing and investigation of greater white ink use.
