New York Printing Industry Mourns the Passing of Jack Ranck

It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the passing of one of the giants of the New York printing industry, Jack Ranck, who was Eastern sales manager for the Solna Corporation for many years.

Jack passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011 in New Jersey after a long illness. His wife Celeste was at his side, and she would like all of his friends to know of his passing. His funeral will be in Queens, NY, on Friday March 11.

Jack was involved with the printing industry in the New York area for more than 50 years, having served as sales manager for the old ATF Corporation, and then for more than a decade with the Solna Corporation selling ATF and Solna offset presses. He also worked for the Akiyama Corporation in New Jersey.

Jack was very active in many of the area’s printing trade organizations such as the NY Litho Club and The Craftsmen’s Club.

Jack dedicated his time to his salesmen and his company. In each company that he represented, he was named sales manager of the year many times over. Press sales reps who worked for him knew that he would teach them how to finalize the sale; not only helping his own company make a sale, but also giving the customer the best of his knowledge of the printing industry. He believed that everyone came out ahead when his printing customers prospered from their investments.

Jack Ranck gave his all to the New York printing industry for a very long time. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him and even by those who never met him, but who benefit from the legacy of his service. He leaves all of his colleagues with profoundly fond memories of time spent together and sadness from his passing.
