DocuSource of NC (www.docusourceofnc.com), a Triangle-based integrated marketing solutions provider, announces today its sponsorship of the first annual Durham Crisis Response Center Golf Tournament. Proceeds from the April 3 tournament will help provide shelter to women and children who have been affected by domestic and sexual violence.
“We are grateful to organizations like DocuSource that generously give their support so we can fulfill our mission,” says Paige Wiggs, Durham Crisis Response Center community outreach educator. “DocuSource is setting a precedent for other companies to take ownership in addressing the problem of domestic and sexual violence in our communities.”
The Durham Crisis Response Center (www.durhamcrisisresponse.org) offers a 24-hour, confidential crisis line for victims of domestic and sexual violence, short-term emergency shelter, hospital and court accompaniment, legal clinics with local attorneys, support groups, counseling, and referrals for job training, housing, childcare and other community services.
“As an avid golfer and a person who believes that it is important to provide for your community, I can’t think of a better way to support the center than to help raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence,” says Kathy Murchison, president and CEO of DocuSource of NC, LLC.
DocuSource consistently donates its time, services and funds to help improve the quality of life for Triangle residents. In addition to its support of the DCRC, the company has supported more than 20 local organizations, including Red Cross, Girls on the Run, Be Active North Carolina, CIS Durham, Boys and Girls Club of Wake County, Meals on Wheels, SPCA, Tammy Lynn Memorial Foundation, the Women’s Center of Wake County and the Raleigh and Durham Rescue Missions.
DCRC’s golf tournament will be held at the Crossing Golf Club in Durham, N.C. Registration begins at noon, with a tee time of 1 p.m. Additional information is available at www.durhamcrisisresponse.org/golf20tournament.htm.
