Standard Register Elects New Board Member and New Officer

Standard Register announced the election of Julie D. Klapstein to the company's board of directors. Eight incumbent directors were also re-elected at the annual meeting of shareholders this week.

"The addition of Julie Klapstein to our board of directors will be very valuable to our company," said Joseph P. Morgan Jr., president and chief executive officer. "Her insights and experience, particularly in the healthcare industry, will help guide Standard Register in the years ahead as we move forward with our market-focused strategy."

Since 2001, Ms. Klapstein has been chief executive officer of Availity LLC, a joint venture between Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Health Care Service Corporation Humana Inc., and WellPoint Inc. She formerly served as president and chief executive officer of Phycom Corporation, a medical management health company. She has deep experience in the healthcare industry and has served on the boards of directors of various for-profit and not-for-profit companies.

Shareholders also re-elected: David P. Bailis, Roy W. Begley Jr., F. David Clarke III. Michael E. Kohlsdorf, R. Eric McCarthey, Joseph P. Morgan Jr., John J. Schiff Jr., and John Q. Sherman II, to the board.

Standard Register also announced that Jerrold A. Beigel has been appointed as an officer of the company by the board of directors.

"Jerry is doing a great job of leading our commercial market-focused business unit as it develops innovative applications for our existing customers and builds strong new relationships. In addition, his strong background and understanding of the trends driving our industry make him a valuable asset to our senior leadership team," Morgan said.

Mr. Beigel serves as president of Standard Register's Commercial Business Unit. He joined the company in 2009. He formerly held the position of senior vice president for commercial sales for the Elsevier business unit of Reed Elsevier, and was vice president of LexisNexis corporate markets business. His background also includes sales leadership positions with StorageTek/Sun Microsystems and Xerox Corporation.
