Vertis Receives USPS Award for Comprehensive Management and Optimization of First Class Mail Campaigns

Vertis Communications, a results-driven marketing communications company that delivers inventive advertising, direct marketing and interactive solutions to prominent brands across North America, announced today that it received the Eastern Area Vice President’s Award for Strategic Business Development from the U.S. Postal Service. Vertis was recognized for its commitment to innovation and collaboration in managing and optimizing large, time-sensitive First-Class mailings for clients such as Medco Health Solutions, Prudential, Sterling Jewelers and dunnhumbyUSA’s Kroger brands, as well as agencies in the federal government.

"Vertis' commitment to continuous innovation is establishing best practices in the industry and ultimately enhancing business results for their clients," said Jordan Small, Vice President, Eastern Area Operations, United States Postal Service, who nominated Vertis for the award. "We are pleased to recognize Vertis for its leadership, attention to detail and superior customer service."

The Strategic Business Development Award, one of three “best in class” awards presented annually, recognizes Postal customers for the implementation of new technologies and best practices that maximize efficiencies in the mail value chain. Vertis’ proprietary First-Class mail pre-sorting and optimization process streamlines front-end delivery preparation and minimizes the impact of large-scale deployments on the USPS’ delivery infrastructure. Through synchronized in-home delivery, Vertis ensures that each mailer reaches its household destination within the intended timeframe. The exclusive management process also protects highly confidential personal information often included in government communications, providing clients with the highest levels of security in their direct marketing outreach.

“The U.S. Postal Service truly understands the importance of accurate and timely delivery of direct marketing campaigns to successfully distribute essential communications,” said Gerald Sokol, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer, Interim, at Vertis Communications. “We value this partnership, which enables us to work together to satisfy the time-sensitive demands of our mutual clients, and will continue to innovate on behalf of the USPS in order to make the delivery process as streamlined and efficient as possible.”

The Eastern Area Vice President’s Award for Strategic Business Development was presented on May 3, 2011 at the National Postal Forum in San Diego, California. The National Postal Forum is the premier educational event and tradeshow available to mail professionals today.
