iParadigms, creators of Turnitin® and the leader in plagiarism prevention and online grading, today announced that the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) has awarded Turnitin with its Distinguished Achievement Award in the technology assessment tools category. The award recognizes the year’s best products and highlights the standard of excellence other developers can measure their products against.
“The recognition from the AEP awards program validates the importance of our tool for helping students become better and more authentic writers. Turnitin does much more than check written work for potentially unoriginal content; it provides teachers with the tools to deliver quality feedback on students’ written work, teach the writing process and instruct on proper citation,” said Chris Caren, iParadigms’ president and CEO. “Turnitin has been a leader in the plagiarism prevention space for many years and we continue to add features to the program that assist instructors who are reviewing and grading student research papers.”
In addition to the DAA, Turnitin was also named as a finalist in this year’s AEP Innovation Award. This awards program honors educational resources that exemplify the creativity and inventiveness of the educational publishing industry as nominated by an expert panel of judges.
Since 1996, associations and award programs have recognized Turnitin for its technology innovation within the education industry, including a 2010 Tech & Learning Award of Excellence.
