Printing professionals in South America will be able to see the Xeikon 3300 in action for the first time at Andigráfica 2011. Xeikon will demonstrate its high-performance web-fed digital press, which has been developed for high-volume label printing and industrial applications. Andigráfica is being staged in Bogotá, Columbia, between 21 and 25 June. The Xeikon 3300 will be on show at booth 201, the stand of Xeikon’s Columbian distributor, Graphic Solutions International (GSI).
Delegates visiting the GSI stand will discover firsthand the benefits of the Xeikon 3300 digital label press. The system has been designed for use with the most common web width of 330 mm (13”), but also capable of handling a web width as narrow as 200 mm (7.9"), at speeds of up to 19.2 m/min (63 ft/min). Xeikon’s other flagship model, the Xeikon 3500, runs at the same speed and is capable of handling both the wider 516 mm (20.3”) maximum web width as well as a web width as narrow ad 250 mm (9.8") on a wide range of substrates.
The award-winning Xeikon 3300 delivers striking 1200dpi image quality, thanks to LED technology and Xeikon’s dry toner technology. In addition, full rotary printing ensures speed is unaffected by label size or by the number of colors used, delivering predictable production. It can print on a wide range of conventional substrates without pre-coating, including various self-adhesive materials, such as co-extruded films, Bopp, PVC and PET, paperboards, paper with weights ranging from 40 to 350gsm, and transparent and opaque foils.
The Xeikon 3300 uses the newest QA-I toner, which meets all the applicable FDA guidelines for indirect food contact under room temperature, as well as direct food contact for dry food substances containing no surface oil or fat under the same conditions. QA-I toners deliver impressive levels of light fastness that have been confirmed by independent laboratory testing.
Xeikon will showcase during Andigráfica 2011 the Xeikon X-800 digital front-end. Based on open standards, it can be integrated into any production environment, while its modular set-up enables users to more efficiently manage different production elements. Equipped with the new Adobe® PDF Print Engine, this next generation of PDF native RIP offers even greater reliability, consistency and predictability from application to output, and supports the latest transparency effects.
