Technifold USA Demonstrates Spine & Hinge Creaser, Rotary Creasing Device
Two unique features, not found on conventional scoring tools, shown at GRAPH EXPO.
Technifold USA will be demonstrating a perfect binder cover creasing system that has two unique features not found on conventional creasing (scoring) tools. These two features allow the system to produce up to 4 custom creases simultaneously, from either side of the sheet.
The first feature is that each component can act as male or female, as required by the job. For instance, one cover may require 2 spine scores on the outside and 2 hinge scores on the inside. Another may require all 4 scores on the outside. The multi-function male/female components allow operators to switch from one side of the sheet to the other in minutes, without removing the tooling.
The second feature is an infinitely variable female channel width. The operator dials in the channel width according to the weight of cover stock and can micro adjust the width for the perfect crease. (This feature is available only on models that retrofit certain Muller cover feeders.) This, combined with 3 male creasing rib profiles, allows operators nearly limitless choices in creating the optimum cover crease.
This patented creasing technology eliminates the need for offline creasing of book covers. It works on stocks from 90# text weight up through 16pt or 350gsm, regardless of grain direction or machine speed and requires no machine modification.
