Southern California's Lithographix Acquires Durst Rho 1000 and Rho 500R

Hawthorne, CA-based Lithographix will acquire the two Durst Rho printers on display Oct. 19-21 at the SGIA Expo in New Orleans, and add them to its array of output options.

Durst's 98-inch Rho 1000 Continuous Production Inkjet System and its five-meter Rho 500R Superwide Roll-to-Roll Inkjet Printer – to be exhibited in SGIA Booth 901 – are set to be shipped straight from the SGIA show floor to Lithographix's expansive 250,000-square-foot operations facility in Hawthorne, Calif., where virtually everything a client might require is under one roof.

"Lithographix has always stood for tradition, quality and superior service. We've managed to grow and change with the times while maintaining our traditions and values," said George Wolden, Vice President of Manufacturing for Lithographix. "Our acquisition of Durst's Rho 1000 and Rho 500R are in keeping with that philosophy.

"We have some history with Durst – we already have two Rho 500Rs, plus two Rho 800HS flatbeds and two Lambda photo imagers on our floor," Wolden said. "So we're comfortable with their philosophy and pleased with their equipment's performance. These new-generation Durst printers are going to help us meet the needs of our increasingly demanding clients, as well as help us advance our business."

"Lithographix is a recognized leader and innovator, and we're very pleased to have not only their business but their confidence," said Christopher Howard, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Durst U.S. "With the Rho 1000 and Rho 500R, we demonstrate that our solutions are the right choice for world-class enterprises like Lithographix."

Originally a traditional printer, Lithographix today prides itself on what might be the industry's most modern, diverse collection of printing and imaging technologies to satisfy a wide variety of imaging requirements and tackle innovative new imaging applications. Wolden said staying in front in the imaging industry requires both vision and the tools to fulfill that vision.

"We want our customers to understand that large-format digital printing by Lithographix is like no other, and our Durst printers help us to maintain that high standard," he said. "It's a standard driven by the simple desire to create something better than the client's original vision. It can be outdoor billboards, walls, spectaculars, standees, point-of-sale signage, packaging – they're all printed with the same high quality and for the highest impact."
