GBC Demonstrated Octiva Thermal and Arctic Pressure Sensitive Films at SGIA 2011
GBC demonstrated an extensive assortment of films and mounting adhesives at the SGIA Show, October 19–21 in New Orleans
GBC, the market leader in graphic finishing, displayed and demonstrated an extensive assortment of films and mounting adhesives at the SGIA Show, October 19 – 21 in New Orleans, LA. Show attendees were able to examine and acquaint themselves with the many films and mounting adhesives available from GBC, specific to the numerous finishing applications in the market. GBC offers both wide-format and narrow-format films in varying sizes, substrates, thicknesses, finishes and adhesive combinations used in both heat sensitive and cold pressure sensitive applications.
GBC’s line of thermal laminating supplies leads the industry in quality, performance and innovation. This extensive line, named Octiva, is designed for use with hot roll laminators. With a full line of products for every application, sign shops can choose from Octiva Low-Melt, used for heat sensitive applications, standard Octiva Film, offering high clarity and excellent protection, and Octiva Light, an economical line providing excellent clarity, color enhancement and protection.
GBC Arctic pressure sensitive films and mounting adhesives are the cool choice for heat sensitive applications. Chose from Arctic over-laminates - available in a variety of finishes including gloss, matte and lustre. For outdoor applications GBC offers cast vinyl over-laminates in both gloss and lustre finishes and UV protection for applications exposed to light and other challenging environmental conditions. Create color enhanced floor graphics using GBC’s Arctic Floor Mat. Arctic Floor Mat also carries UL certification. At SGIA 2011, GBC laminated and demonstrated Arctic Anti-Graffiti film. This film provides superior protection in instances where graffiti vandalism can potentially destroy graphic signage applications. This pressure sensitive over-laminate is constructed with a high quality PCTFE film substrate which provides long-lasting protection for printed images. The damaging effects of stains and chemicals such as paints, permanent markers, acrylics and more are no match for the protective qualities of GBC Arctic Anti-Graffiti film.
In the Narrow Format Zone GBC demonstrated its 620os laminator with the newly introduced automatic feeder in action. The 620os laminator laminates single-sided applications such as book covers, dust jackets, post cards, greeting cards, packaging and more. The 620os laminator was running GBC’s industry-leading Scuff-Free Matte polypropylene film which provides an enhanced finish that protects the finished application from scratching and scuffing. GBC offers a full line of Octiva single-sided films in polypropylene, polyester and nylon substrates. GBC’s Digital adhesive is the industry leader in adhering to today’s difficult to bond to digital output.
