DirectMail.com, a leading provider of integrated direct marketing solutions, announced the presentation of the John Swain Memorial Scholarship by the Direct Marketing Association of Washington-Education Foundation (DMAW-EF). The presentation took place on December 1st at the DMAW’s annual Best of Direct Gala at the National Geographic Society Building in Washington, D.C.
The Swain Scholarship was established in 1986 in honor of John Swain, co-founder of DirectMail.com and a longtime DMAW member. The scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate in a mid-Atlantic college or university who demonstrates academic excellence and the desire to work in the field of marketing. The 2011 recipient is Stephanie House-Niamke from Radford University. Past recipients have come from schools such as American University, Catholic University, James Madison University, Salisbury University and Christopher Newport University, among others.
