This holiday season, GPA employees gave from the heart by participating in the Wishes to Santa program, which provides children in need with clothes and toys for Christmas.
GPA employees chose a child who was represented by a tag on their Christmas tree, and either purchased the items or made a monetary contribution toward the purchase of gifts. The children's wish lists contain nothing extravagant; mostly necessities that many people take for granted.
"We are happy to have a part in bringing joy to children in need during this time of the year. Every child deserves to feel joy, regardless of his or her situation. We appreciate the opportunity to give back and assist The Alliance for the Children in helping families create their own special holiday. We lookforward to future opportunities where we can work together to make a positive difference in the lives of others," said Tom Brooker, President of GPA.
For over 20 years, the Alliance for Children has been working to supply children across the country with basic needs to help withtheir wellness, health and education. The Alliance works collaboratively with program directors and school administrators to identify families and children who are most in need of intervention. It has no paid employees, and is run by volunteers who donate their time to help children with disabilities, cancer, and those who have been abused and are in crisis.
