PODi, the Digital Printing Initiative, has published the first edition of its 2012 Digital Printing Case Study Collection. The twenty-eight new case studies cover nine vertical markets and bring the database total to over 500. They highlight the growing importance of relevant cross media marketing, with improved results driven by integrating digital print, social media, mobile, email, and online channels.
“This year’s case studies use astounding innovation in image personalization, extreme relevance, and predictive data analytics. They even include dimensional mailings (including mailing a coconut – literally!),” says Caslon’s Content Director, Christine DeLooze. “We’re seeing more adoption of cross media marketing applications across verticals, including not-for-profit, education, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, travel and printing services. Social media, QR codes and Personalized URLs have become mainstream tools.”
“Online marketing resource centers continue to grow in popularity. They are being used by all kinds of companies, from Hilton’s DoubleTree hotels and the Volvo Group’s Mack Truck, to fair trade organizations, like Ten Thousand Villages.”
“We see increasing innovation among marketers at universities and educational organizations, like Miami University, Robert Morris University and Rosemont College, with exciting lead gen and direct order applications designed to boost enrollment. Retailers like Good Sports Outfitters are harnessing cross media to increase sales and traffic. Even small niche businesses, like Imagine Your Smile, a specialty dentistry practice, are using 1:1 to increase referrals and build sales.” See the new 2012 collection of case studies
PODi encourages submission of successful programs throughout the year, and publishes the best case studies in their database. These are all considered for the annual Best Practice Awards. “We recently announced our Best Practice Award Winners for 2012, the most outstanding case studies of the year. We were honored to host the winners at the AppForum conference (January 23-25 in Las Vegas) where they discussed the details of their campaigns and shared the inside story with conference attendees.” PODi’s Best Practice Award Winners for 2012: Direct Marketing – ScottishPower & Eclipse (Honorable Mentions (tie): Rosemont College, Pacesetter Enterprises, Digital Innovations Group/Miami University, b+p+t Communication Solutions) // Marketing Resource Center – DoubleTree by Hilton, MSP, Tray & eIntegrity (Honorable Mention: Ten Thousand Villages, The Standard Group) // Self-Promotion – AlphaGraphics in the Cultural District (Honorable Mention: Boelte-Hall)
The second edition of the 2012 collection will be released later this spring. PODi’s Digital Printing Case Study Database is the only resource of its kind for the digital print marketplace. Case studies are essential resources for progressive printing and marketing solutions businesses and for their clients. “Simply put, case studies prove that digital print solutions work,” says DeLooze. “For marketers, they’re a great way to connect with knowledgeable partners and see the latest in relevant marketing. For service providers, they are a way to prove the value of digital print solutions even if the company hasn’t yet had an opportunity to build a similar campaign.”
