ECRM Showcases Digitally Modulated Screening for Superior Printing at GOA 2012

ECRM will be demonstrating its latest product innovations in the booth of its dealer partner Intergraph Corporation (booth #301).

ECRM Incorporated (“ECRM Imaging Systems”) announced that the company will be showcasing ECRM’s new DM Screening product next week at the Graphics of the Americas 2012 Expo and Conference. ECRM DM Screening is digitally modulated screening based on a patented technology that outperforms current screening products in the graphic arts industry.

ECRM will be demonstrating its latest product innovations in the booth of their dealer partner Intergraph Corporation (booth #301). Attendees will be shown the MAKO 400 platesetter and ECRM DM Screening. Also featured will be ECRM’s DPP 1200 digital production press, a flexible and affordable 2-up printing solution. The GOA 2012 show is being held at the Miami Beach Convention Center (from March 1-3).

ECRM DM Screening Benefits

Available as a CtP RIP upgrade option for all ECRM Dealers and customers, the new ECRM DM Screening image enhancement and ink savings software uses patented technology that produces superior highlight and shadow detail (1% to 99% on press), as well as greatly enhanced contrast. Users also benefit from lower ink consumption. In testing at newspapers worldwide, estimated ink savings of 15% to 25% over a conventional 100 lpi screen has been achieved. For the commercial printer, the resulting print quality is equivalent to a conventional 350-400 lpi image.

Compared to FM screening, ECRM DM Screening is easier to calibrate, easier to control on both plate and press, and offers smoother flat tints. DM Screening digitally modulates each and every pixel, rather than repeating a fixed pattern of dots (as in AM screening) or randomly marking pixels (as in FM screening). The result is an unprecedented quality of screening, which is easy to plate and print using ECRM platesetters.

The MAKO 400

The MAKO 400 is a 4-up platesetter which offers all the benefits of the company’s violet imaging technology with ECRM patented enhanced imaging Gen4 optics. The MAKO 400 offers the highest quality image output with resolution sets from 1200 to 3556 dpi. It’s also one the fastest 4-page solutions in its class, imaging over 25 Speedmaster 74 plates per hour at 2400 dpi.

DPP 1200 Digital Press

Introduced at last year’s GOA show, the DPP 1200 is positioned to deliver commercial quality color for the demands of today’s commercial printer. This innovative solution offers an economically-priced supplement to their current print production offerings. The digital press produces high-quality business cards, flyers, inserts, brochures, magazine covers, real-estate pages and much more - supporting line screens up to 175 lpi.
