HP has announced that Tulsa, OK-based Meeks Group has installed HP Scitex LX850 and FB700 Industrial Printers to help improve productivity, meet environmental demands and diversify application offerings.
Founded in 1961, Meeks is a full-service print provider specializing in vehicle wraps, banners, trade show graphics and point-of-purchase displays. With the new HP solutions, the company will expand into thicker rigid substrates and fabric applications. Purchased from HP Scitex distributor PriscoDigital, Meeks selected the HP Scitex printers based on:
- The environmental benefits of the HP Scitex LX850 Industrial Printer's water-based HP Latex Inks, capable of producing high-quality, durable sign and display output
- The productivity of the new printers, including dual-roll handling on the HP Scitex LX850 Industrial Printer and simultaneous loading and printing options on the HP Scitex FB700 Industrial Printer
"The higher productivity afforded by the new machines has really helped us exceed some of our larger customers' expectations for turnaround without a loss in quality," said Jerry Crockett, president and chief executive officer, Meeks Group. "In fact, we have added four new employees in the last quarter to keep up with the increasing demand for our services."
New HP solutions attract environmentally conscious customers
The HP Scitex LX850 Printer's ability to lower the impact of printing on the environment while maintaining high print quality will be attractive to new and existing eco-conscious Meeks customers such as the Cherokee Nation.
"We are proud of the customer relationships we have established over many decades because we do business with traditional values – trust, integrity and honesty," said Crockett. "We take a personal interest in all the projects we produce and strive to offer the highest level of service."
Out-of-the-box printing projects achieved with HP
Meeks has a reputation for completing innovative print jobs and has made use of both new devices for unique projects. Using the HP Scitex FB700 Industrial Printer, Meeks is running samples for a customer, printing directly onto aluminum for a 2,500-sheet run of a camouflage print. With the HP Scitex LX850 Printer, Meeks recently wrapped a fire engine, an ambulance and a police car in pink for breast cancer awareness, and is also in the midst of wrapping the feet of the 76-foot Golden Driller statue in Tulsa, the world's largest free-standing statue.
"Customers often call on us for out-of-the-box projects and we always find a way to complete the job successfully," said Crockett. "The newly installed HP Scitex solutions will allow us to continue to grow our business with projects that help us stand out from the competition."
