Nimlok Remains Committed to Environmental Protection Efforts with ISO Recertifications

Nimlok has passed its quality management system recertification audit to ISO 9001:2008 and has met its environmental objectives for ISO 14001:2004 recertification.

Nimlok has been registered to ISO 9001 since 1999 and undergoes a rigorous four day audit every three years to ensure it continues to meet all the requirements of the internationally recognized standard for its quality management system. ISO 9001 standard covers all aspects of the quality system including defining roles and responsibilities, policies and objectives, and the importance of understanding and meeting customer requirements.

In addition to ISO 9001:2008, Nimlok recertified to ISO 14001:2004, recognized as an organization's high level commitment to environmental protection.

The ISO 14001:2004 standard provides guidance for an organization to:

  • Minimize harmful effects on the environment caused by business activities
  • Prevent pollution
  • Achieve continual improvement of environmental performance

In 2011 the company strengthened its environmental performance and quality management system by:

  • Expanding use of electronic media for records and documents
  • Continuing to reduce scrap and improve recycling
  • Implementing new computer systems

Nimlok continues to meet the requirements of both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards to improve business processes, save money, reduce waste and improve product quality.
