Screen established itself as a true innovator in digital imaging and print-on-demand technology with international product debuts, commercial launches and enhanced models in its existing portfolio. Show attendees swept away by the wave of enthusiasm for inkjet printing systems, at times, flooded the Screen stand in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Our very own Mike Fox, president of Screen (USA) reported “drupa was a huge success. Interest in our inkjet printing systems surpassed our expectations. The solutions we showcased at drupa addressed the quality, productivity and flexibility needs of all important markets. Companies from around the world placed orders across our entire product line.”
Best Digital, a point-of-sale specialist based in the United Kingdom, bought the world’s first Truepress Jet W1632UV. The company also acquired the Truepress Jet2500UV grand-format inkjet printer. Launched at drupa and targeted toward full-color point-of-purchase and graphic displays, the Truepress Jet W1632UV is a flatbed wide-format printer that allows the customer to retain high production speeds and quality. It supports media sizes up to 62.9 x 125.9 inches and prints at up to 1,011.8 square feet per hour.
Other new systems highlighted at drupa included our web-fed Truepress Jet L350UV, a single-pass UV inkjet label printing system. The Truepress Jet L350UV offers a linear speed of 164 feet per minute. It accommodates a maximum printing width of 12.6 inches.
At drupa, we also launched the complete EQUIOS universal workflow. Our versatile, scalable workflow management system is designed to grow and adapt to a printer’s needs in conventional and personalized printing environments. This new-generation workflow provides total support for print-on-demand and computer-to-plate production and makes high-speed variable printing possible.
Additionally, we demonstrated the latest enhancements to the Truepress Jet520 inkjet web press and Truepress JetSX digital sheetfed press. With more than 400 presses in production worldwide, the Truepress Jet520 stands as the industry’s premier color variable inkjet web press. The Truepress JetSX, the world’s first inkjet press capable of B2-size sheetfed printing, offers a new optional feature that allows it to print onto substrates up to 23.6 mil. thick.
