SGIA's Dye Sublimation Workshop Educates Veterans & Newcomers Alike

The popular “Dye Sublimation: Basic to Advanced” Workshop returned to SGIA’s state-of-the-art, northern Virginia laboratory last month (May 22–24), offering attendees an ideal opportunity to learn about one of the hottest trends in specialty imaging.

Led by industry experts — Syd Northup, of Gans Ink and Supply Co., and John Barker, of Johnson Plastics’ — specialty imaging veterans and newcomers alike benefitted from the broad instruction covering topics such as: How to get great color from dye sublimation, creating a new profit center and troubleshooting techniques to enhance production efficiency.

“I’m a startup, so I really came looking for a little bit of everything, and this Workshop was Basic to Advanced,” said Tyler Stone, founder of the Charleston, South Carolina-based Custom Country, LLC. “It really fit the mold, offering beneficial, broad-based knowledge. I really valued the personal interactions, and being able to ask questions of people who have been out in the world for a while, doing what I do.”

Missed the Workshop? Get hands-on dye sublimation experience at the 2012 SGIA Expo (Las Vegas, October 18–20). Hundreds of leading manufacturers will showcase the latest technologies and techniques, and experts in the sales-free Digital Apparel Production Zone will demonstrate how to incorporate dye sublimation into your business.
