On July 1, 2012 Dr. Hauke Berndt took over as sales manager at ppi Media. He has replaced Christian Finder, who, with immediate effect, will devote himself to international sales, mainly in South East Asia.
For over 10 years Hauke Berndt has held various positions at ppi Media, a Hamburg-based software supplier of publishing solutions. A graduate in meteorology, he joined the company as a project manager, moving on to key account manager in customer consulting. In 2008 he switched to the sales department. In his new position he is responsible for marketing software solutions for the publishing industry and for activating the corporate publishing target group.
“Even while I was studying meteorology, it was important to develop innovative solutions for the constantly changing tasks we were faced with. The IT industry is no different. Understanding complex systems and recognizing correlations are a prerequisite for a successful approach in an ever-changing environment,” says Hauke Berndt. He therefore faces the future with optimism. “A large number of publishing companies are battling with a sharp downturn in subscriber and circulation figures and, in some cases, a drastic decrease in revenue from ad sales. Consolidation measures and activities in the online and mobile sector can only partly compensate for this. Only those who succeed in improving their content and in publishing it on all channels will also succeed in today’s changed market conditions in the long term.” Apart from marketing the classic solutions, Hauke Berndt is particularly keen to set new standards in corporate publishing with ppi Media’s state-of-the-art, multimedia solutions.
