Durst is exhibiting its workhorse Rho 1000 Continuous Inkjet Production System with a new ¾-automated media handling configuration – plus its new 10-picoliter Rho P10 250 flatbed and Rho P10 320R roll printers – this week at the SGIA trade show, Oct. 18-20 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Durst, once again a Platinum Sponsor of SGIA, will have all three of the printers operating for the entire three-day event in Booth #401. The latest media handling option for the Rho 1000, a “middle ground” configuration between manual and fully automatic, brings more versatility to a high-production platform that also can be equipped for corrugate and roll-to-roll printing. The P10 Series printers produce “fine art” quality output at production speeds for a wide variety of eye-level imaging applications.

The industrial-grade, 98-inch Rho 1000 efficiently transports and prints on a remarkably wide variety of sheet, heavy rigid and roll media. The printer, designed to provide flexibility and versatility in the high-production environment, requires very little set-up time. It can operate in a continuous-feed workflow that eliminates load/unload delays between sheets – similar to screen or offset printing methods and other systems designed for optimal integration and productivity.
The Rho 1000 is capable of printing more than 5,380 square feet per hour. In addition to many typical stand-alone digital applications, the Rho 1000 is well suited for integration into screen and offset printing workflows, in which its high-speed, full-color printing becomes one step in the overall image production process, Durst said. The new ¾-automatic media handling system is based on an innovative registration table for loading and a simpler stacker for off-loading.
Rho P10 250
The versatile 98-inch Rho P10 250 is designed primarily for large-format print providers looking for a way to output a wide variety of hand-held and eye-level materials, such as backlit signage,
POP and commercial displays, small packages, etc. – cost-effectively and at production speeds. Its proprietary Quadro Array 10-picoliter print heads deliver remarkable versatility, productivity and 1,000-dpi resolution.
Rho P10 250 output displays the finest color graduations and virtually perfect color reproduction, while maintaining high levels of cost-efficiency and flexibility. The added ability to print light cyan and light magenta further enhances its image quality and range. The Rho P10 250 – which prints up to 2,000 s.f./hr. – can print simultaneously on two parallel boards or panels, raising its productivity and versatility even further. It can run uninterrupted for efficient 24/7 production.
Rho P10 320R
The 126-inch Rho P10 320R establishes a new quality standard for industrial roll-to-roll printing. Precision components developed by Durst include a proprietary magnetic linear drive carriage system for efficient, accurate printing. Image quality is ideally suited for any high-visibility backlit application. The Rho P10 320R also prints directly onto textiles and stretch media.
Productivity of up to 1,650 s.f./hr. is enhanced by the printer’s ability to print two 1.6m rolls of material side by side, with different images on each. With a single large roll, the Rho P10 320R can operate uninterrupted.
