Esko Offers Brand Owners and Converters a Showcase of Tools for Packaging Success at PACK EXPO 2012

An extensive portfolio of new solutions to create and design packaging and cartons, along with demonstration of PantoneLIVE, highlight Esko display at booth N5426

At PACK EXPO 2012 booth N5436, Esko will demonstrate a wide range of newly launched products and services that benefit converters and brand owners. Highlighted is Esko's new Suite 12 portfolio of packaging design and workflow solutions, along with the presence of X-Rite and PantoneLIVE, an end-to-end color management and color communication solution that, for the first time, addresses the needs of every single discipline within the print supply chain. Visitors can learn about PantoneLIVE support within Esko's workflows. PACK EXPO International 2012 is the only trade show to offer packaging, processing and integrated packaging-processing solutions all together.

Esko offers a full range of software and hardware that allows converters and brand owners to reduce time to market while producing strong, impactful packaging. “Nearly 90% of all packaging worldwide is touched by an Esko workflow, and 9 of 10 brands produce their packaging with Esko tools,” comments Mark Quinlan, President, Esko Americas. “To stay ahead in the market, companies differentiate themselves from their competition through innovation. There are many ways to do that. Esko customers can branch out and extend their service portfolios. They can go digital where possible. They can upgrade their hardware or automate every step that doesn’t need human intervention. And, most important, they can boost the quality of their finished product. Esko is at PACK EXPO to show that, whatever a converter or brand chooses, Esko is a partner with state of the art solutions to help them along the way.”

The most recent set of Esko workflow solutions for prepress

During PACK EXPO, a series of new solutions launched earlier this year will be demonstrated. Visitors can work with a wide array of packaging software solutions addressing artwork, management, design and prepress, color management, workflow automation and process integration. Esko Suite 12 adds value for the user by introducing new productivity and efficiency benefits. This is done by closely integrating all flagship tools and engines, by adding rich 3D functionality for a holistic experience, and by enabling mobile collaboration and web-based packaging management.

Featuring WebCenter 12, Automation Engine 12, Color Engine 12, Studio 12 and the version 12 editions of flagship editors ArtiosCAD, PackEdge, ArtPro and DeskPack, Suite 12 raises the bar for process integration from design to press, involving all players in the supply chain. It provides a complete answer to the challenges of a modern packaging preproduction workflow.

Why work in a flat world if packaging isn’t? Featured is Studio 12, a unique set of tools for 3D packaging design made specifically for packaging artwork professionals. Studio helps produce better artwork, by allowing users to virtually hold packs in their hands. Studio also lets companies create exciting 3D visuals to show to clients, ranging from PDF files with 3D content to movies, or virtual packshots. Meanwhile, Store Visualizer offers brand owners a unique, advance view of virtual packaging as it would look on a store’s shelves next to competitive products — before the real packaging is even produced.

With the introduction of ArtiosCAD 12, Esko offers a paradigm shift in packaging design from 2D to 3D. Providing tools for 3D design, editing, rendering and visualization, ArtiosCAD 12 assures that the viability of a package is discovered further upstream in the supply chain. It also provides new tools for packaging design and process integration to help users gain productivity and increase efficiency. ArtiosCAD is the flagship structural packaging design editor in Esko's software suite with over 13.000 licenses sold worldwide.
